Beauty Therapy Level 3,4,5 and 6

Beauty Therapy level 3 to 6 are comprehensive courses designed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to pursue a career in the beauty therapy industry. These courses typically cover a wide range of topics related to skincare, makeup application, body treatments, spa therapies, salon management, and client consultation techniques.

Beauty Therapy certificate level 6 qualification consists of competencies that an individual must achieve to enable him/her to manage a beauty therapy operations unit and comprises of managing nail technology operations, makeup operations, massage and spa operations, manicure and pedicure operations, facial skin care treatment operations, body art operations and hair removal operations. It also entails management of beauty therapy operations unit. 

The units of learning comprising Beauty Therapy (at different levels) are as listed below:

BASIC UNITS

  • Communication Skills
  • Numeracy Skills
  • Digital Literacy
  • Entrepreneurial Skills
  • Employability Skills
  • Environmental Literacy
  • Occupational Safety and Health Practices

CORE UNITS

  • Make-up services/operations (all levels)
  • Manicure and pedicure services/operations (all levels)
  • Body art services/operations (all levels)
  • Nail technology services/operations (5&6)
  • Head and Shoulder massage services (3 only)
  • Body massage and spa services/operations(4,5&6)
  • Facial skin care services/operations (5&6)
  • Hair removal services/operations (4,5&6)
  • Beauty therapy operations unit management (6 only)
  • Industrial attachment (all levels)

Duration

  • Level 6 takes 3 years
  • Level 5 takes 2 years
  • Level 4 takes 1 year
  • Level 3 takes 6 months

Assessment

The course is assessed internally and externally. Internal assessment is continuous and is conducted by the trainer who is monitored by an accredited internal verifier while external assessment is the responsibility of TVET CDACC.

Delivery mode

  • Full-time (in class)

Certification

  • On successful completion of a Unit of Learning, a trainee is issued with a Certificate that acknowledges the achievement of that competence. 
  • On successful completion of ALL units of learning, a trainee is awarded an ICT Technician Certificate qualification.
  • These certificates are issued by TVET CDACC in conjunction with KTVC

Tuition Fees

  • Ksh. 67,189 per year
