Computer Application-Level 3

Computer application level 3 course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and practical skills necessary for effectively using computer software and applications. Covering a wide range of topics. This course typically includes instruction on popular productivity software suites such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and  Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Through hands-on exercises and projects, students learn how to create, edit, format, and organize documents, spreadsheets, presentations. Additionally, they may explore topics such as file management, internet research and email etiquette. The goal of a computer applications course is to empower students with the practical skills and knowledge needed to navigate and leverage technology effectively in various personal, academic, and professional settings.

This course consists of the following basic and core units of learning:

BASIC UNITS (All levels)

  • Communication Skills
  • Numeracy Skills
  • Entrepreneurial Skills
  • Employability Skills
  • Environmental Literacy
  • Occupational Safety and Health Practices

CORE UNITS

  • Basic Computing Concepts
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Computer-Based Communication 

Duration

  • 6 months

Assessment

The course is assessed internally and externally. Internal assessment is continuous and is conducted by the trainer who is monitored by an accredited internal verifier while external assessment is the responsibility of TVET CDACC.

Certification

  • On successful completion of a Unit of Learning, a trainee is issued with a Certificate that acknowledges the achievement of that competence. 
  • On successful completion of ALL units of learning, a trainee is awarded an ICT Technician Certificate qualification.
  • These certificates are issued by TVET CDACC in conjunction with KTVC
